I was surprised at how fun the game was when I started playing it! Overall, any brawler type game can get boring after a while, but with all the different Supermen that you play as, there is enough variety to keep you interested! At one point early in the game, you play as the Cyborg Superman in what can only be described as a Gradius/R-Type-style stage. The Death & Return of Superman plays a lot like Final Fight and Streets of Rage (a typical brawler genre popular on 16 -bit systems), where gameplay is pretty linear and straightforward.
